This was a University brief. We were asked to create an infographic based on an article from a newspaper on that day. I chose one based on the Cheltenham horse deaths and thus based my infographic on horse racing in general in the UK.
I took all of my information from Animal Aid's horsedeathwatch.com website. I did ask horse racing authorities for data, but it seems that they don't give this out, despite claiming that they do. Hm...
I didn't intend for this infographic be anti-horse racing, but more about raising people's awareness of what went on in the industry.
The information was taken from a time period of March 13th 2007 - March 12th 2012

Details on where an injury occurred on a horse that caused death and how many times it happened
The horses "running" along the top detail the sex of the horse with how many died. The middle circle details the "going" type along with how many horses died on that ground type.
